This is a run-around game used to teach the basics of the Country Code in a fun way.
You can link it with other Country Code activities.
The following 'orders' are called out and, after a trial run, the last one, or the odd one out, drops out until one player is left.
Instead of Port & Starboard etc to run to at the four ends of the room, we use North, South, East & West. Alternatively, local places like Graydon Lakes, Dalcey Forest, Tywell Country Park, Bluebell Woods can be used.
Put your dog on a lead (Guides/Scouts pair up with one player on all fours as the dog!)
Single file across the field path (Players follow round in single file)
Sheep in the field. (Groups of four, one in the middle and three joining hands around to 'shut the gate')
Pick up litter (Miming litter picking)
Lost in the fog (We added this one in after talking about safety. They have to huddle together and sing a rousing song!)> |
